Milton Keynes Sands fundraising
Milton
Keynes Sands are a completely self funded charity support group.
We are reliant upon donations and fundraising to provide
support to bereaved parents. Everyone involved with Milton Keynes sands
from our members and fundraisers to our local Healthcare Professionals
are aware of how important the
support and services are that we provide.
The money that we raise is used for;
1. General running costs of the group
2. Providing memory cards and sands information leaflets to the hospital
3. Memory boxes to the hospital from the end of July
4. Sands study days for midwives and neonatal nurses which are organised
by Tracy Rea the bereavement midwife
5. The Milton keynes Sands Christmas memorial service at St. Mary's
Church in Shenley Church End
Major fundraising projects;
Thank
you so very much to all our wonderful parents who helped to fundraise
for the bereavement room on Labour ward at Milton Keynes Hospital, the
room is now complete and being used.
On
behalf of the maternity team at MK Hospital
we would like to send our sincere and grateful thanks to our local
SANDS group for fundraising so effectively and being so generous with
their contributions in the refurbishment of the Butterfly suite on
labour ward. I am sure we all know how important the environment is
to the service we give our families. Every donation be it money or
time (or cupcakes!) that went towards this new area is appreciated
by our staff and I am sure will be by the parents who may sadly need
to use it.
